Tilarán is an important tourist site in that there pass the roads to some of the country’s main tourist destinations: Monteverde, Arenal Volcano and the Pacific beaches. Roads in this town are possibly the widest in Costa Rica. The weather is also very nice, an average of 24º C. Here you can find all main services you might need for your trip: drugstores, banks, internet cafe, supermarket, gas station, restaurants.

This private farm started operations to offer visitors the chance to see four of the country’s most beautiful waterfalls. You will find the place 11 km from Tilaran following the road to Monteverde. There is an information center that will guide you through the tour. You can walk, horseback ride or drive (the farm as ample parking space).
At only 100 meters, descending through a spacious natural trail, you will find the first waterfall, Rio Serena. It is the perfect place to enjoy nature and take a refreshing break. At another 100 meters you get to Escondida, a great spot for photographers. If you continue 200 meters, you will get to Arco Iris, the biggest waterfall (75 meters). Sun rays form beautiful colors when they reach the waters. Here you find rest rooms, changing rooms and areas to rest after a nice shower.
There is also a great look-out point from where you can admire Tobogan waterfall. The walk down to Arco Iris has close to 550 steps. From there you will admire the amazing flora and fauna of this region. The farm is open from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, everyday.

A hidden archaeological treasure, this monument exhibits petroglyph from Pre-hispanic times. Since there are so few in the country, this is a great opportunity for an archaeological tour.
